Recent Sermon Series - Videos

Life is full of uncertainties.  One day things are going well and the next it seems the apple cart has been turned upside down. “When Darkness Closes In” is a fall spiritual growth series designed to encourage, build up and equip Christians to walk by faith and trust God in prayer through trying times. John 1:5 says, “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not understood it.” Inspired by the miraculous healing of Yvette Rindels from blindness, the Rindels will share what God has taught them through their trials. You will learn how God is in control in all situations, how He is glorified through our hardships, how His grace is sufficient, how there is power in many people praying, the role of faith in miracles, and how believers should react when their prayers appear to not be answered.  There is a way to walk in victory when darkness closes in!

Philippians 1:20-26

Why do things happen the way they do?  Why does God heal some people and others are never healed?  Why do troubles seem to be a part of some people's lives continuously and others seem to just  skate through life?  Why do some people live to ripe old age and others seem to have gone from us too quickly?  The answer is in the sovereign will of God.

  • Sermon - God's Sovereign Will is Made Perfect

Only God is sovereign and knows all things in the future.  We must be ready to live or die depending on how God numbers the days of our lives.  God's sovereign will is made perfect when believers realize that He chooses the length of their lives.

  • Video Testimony - Susan

Now that I know God, I know that I have my best friend, and someone who can carry me through the rest of my life, no matter what.  They can take nothing else from me.  I thought they'd taken my life when Jeff was gone.  But they can't because I have Jesus as my savior.

Ephesians 6:10-20

One of the challenges for every Christian is to recognize that there are two worlds out there--the visible world we see with our eyes and the invisible world we can only see with spiritual eyes.  Often time, we fail to recognize that the invisible world is every bit as real as the visible world. There is a cosmic battle going on between God and His angels and the devil and his demons in this invisible world.  They are both trying to influence the thoughts, attitudes and actions of human beings.

  • Sermon - God is Greater Than the Devil

The Apostle Paul tells us that "our struggle is not against foes and blood (the visible world), but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms (the invisible world)" (Eph. 6:12).  These rulers, forces, and authorities are real and they have power.  But the Bible tells us that "greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world."  (1 John 4:4).

  • Video Testimony - Alice

Through looking back I can see God's hand taking and leading me every step of the way.

Job 1-42

What happens when you feel so devastated by events of this life that you feel everything you've got is stripped away?  It might be material possessions, your finances, your health, loss of loved ones, loss of job, a relationship dissolved or anything that leaves you overwhelmed by a sense of loss.

  • Sermon - When All is Stripped Away

When all is stripped away, we discover that god was there all along and He will give us strength through it all.

  • Video Testimony - Lorri

When I had nothing...He took care of everything!

Mark 6:1-6; Hebrews 11:6

One of the most important truths of the Christian life is that walking by faith is absolutely necessary.  Hebrews 11:6 says, "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." When darkness closes in, it is absolutely necessary to walk by faith.

  • Sermon - Faith is Built Up

Mark 6:5 says, "He could not do any miracles in His hometown, except lay His hands on a few sick people and heal them."  In other words, the potential of Jesus' work among His own people was greatly diminished.  Their faith kept Him from doing more of His miracles in their midst.

  • Video Testimony - Sharon

I might have MS, but my Lord is in control of all of this, and I knew that He was going to bring me through.

Luke 11:5-13

Have you ever noticed in the news media the one big event, tragedy, calamity, or social upheaval can occur and it blankets the news for a week or so and then things move on?  We often never hear the final results of the election, the trial, the calamity or the tragedy because the news has moved on to the next big story.  Our minds jump from one thing to another like lightning.  We can remember what happened 2 weeks ago let alone a month or a year ago.

I share this because we are a society that often lets this thinking infect our Christian lives.  We jump from one thing to another without remembering what the concerns were a week or month ago.  We forget to pray for those needs that we should remember and be persistent over the long haul until our Heavenly Father answers.

  • Sermon - Persistence Generates Results

Jesus told a parable about a man who had a guest come and didn't have any food for him.  So the host went to his neighbor and asked for help and received it because he persisted in asking even when the man would be inconvenienced.  This parable was told to demonstrate the importance of persistence in our prayer life.

  • Video Testimony - Tiffani and Carla

Watch Carla and Tiffani Fanucchi's amazing testimony of hoe God answered a faithful mothers prayers in the midst of what seemed to be a hopeless situation.

Acts 12:1-17

One of the important principles of powerful prayer is getting many people praying together for a common purpose.  God never intended us to be Lone Ranger Christians.  We are to be in fellowship with others and that means praying with them.

We often hear people say, "Well, I just pray at home by myself."  Or "I don't pray with others because I'm embarrassed to pray out loud."  Or, "God can hear me whenever I am so why do I need to pray with others?"  There is an important spiritual principle and that is there is power in many people praying together.

  • Sermon - Many Prayers Produce Power

When the church prays together in force, there is power that is released for amazing answers coming from the very Throne of God.

  • Video Testimony - Mark and Kathy

Watch how the power of many people praying brought light into the midst of darkness.  Here is our worship pastor Mark Nunn and his wife Kathy, sharing about his battle with cancer and God's faithfulness through many people praying.

1 Samuel 1:1-28

When darkness closes in on our lives, we often frantically go to God in prayer.  That is a good thing!  However, why doesn't God answer our prayers immediately?  For reasons known only to Him, He often heals and meets our desperate needs over time.  In the meantime, He is developing patience in us and building our character.

  • Sermon - Patience is Developed

In the story of the birth of Samuel, Hannah had been barren for quite some time and had prayed that God would open her womb.  But she was not healed at the time she wanted to be healed.  God had a plan!

  • Video Testimony - Ben and Linda

Darkness did come in, but I know that God was in control...Thank you God that you are full of love and compassion for me, and I can come to you at all times.

2 Corinthians 12:7-10

In our broken world, we experience tragedies, heartaches, brokenness, pain, sickness and accidents.  This was not a part of God's original plan.  But when sin came into the world in the Garden of Eden, these difficulties became a part of life.  All around us and in us are signs of these kind of trials.

  • Sermon - God's Grace is Sufficient to Hold You

The Apostle Paul learned that God's grace was sufficient to hold him.  He could trust God to see him through the trials.  There is nothing too difficult for God.  In the same way, God's grace is sufficient to hold you.

  • Video Testimony - Jan and Gary

"Things were rough but by God's grace, I'm without a walker, I'm without a wheelchair, I'm walking, I'm coming to church every chance I get and God has been good through everything."

John 9:1-11

When trouble and trials come our way, it is our natural reaction to ask, "Why Lord?"  But we often are left with no answer.  There is no logical explanation.  Jesus' disciples were perplexed regarding the blind man and why he was born blind.  They assumed that either the man or his parents had sinned.  But Jesus said, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned but this happened so that the work of God might be displayed in his life."

  • Sermon - God Reveals His Power

In the trials of life, when darkness closes in, God wants to be glorified  by revealing His power through them.

  • Video Testimony - Yvette & Mark Part 2

"God just gave us these little miracles everyday, it was his way of working.  It wasn't immediate healing, it was a process, but that was what we needed.  And I think his goal was to teach me a lot."

Psalm 27:1-14

There is something built into all human beings that makes us want to be in control.  Whether it is managing our money, taking care of our health, deciding where we will live, shooting a career, or planing our retirement, we really want to be in control.  We falsely believe that this will give us more contentment and a sense of security.  But are we really ever in control?  Is there ever such a time?  NO!

  • Sermon - God is in Control

King David was going through a troubling time in his life.  In Psalm 27, he cried out to God in a song of confidence and triumph.  He understood that circumstances were not going to dictate his life because ultimately, God is in control

  • Video Testimony - Yvette & Mark Part 1

"I was kinda having this anxiety thinking, oh my gosh what is happening?  And all I could do was cry out to God...I was praying Jesus help me...all of the sudden I was looking up and it was like these two black drapes were closing in on me."
