Ruth - The Royal Romance of Redemption

Dr. Peasley recently conducted a 4-day Bible Conference covering the book of Ruth.  The book of Ruth is the Narrative of a love story, yet also has some important Genealogy.


In this 4-part series, Dr. Peasley unpacks this remarkable book that contains many principles with profound impact to our lives today.  In addition, we had an opportunity to sit down with Dr. Peasley to learn more about him, his ministry and life abroad as The Evangelist.

  • Video Interview with Dr. Cecil Peasley

    Dr. Cecil Peasley was born in Port Elizabeth, South Africa, to missionary parents.  He came to Christ at the age of 15 years, following the trauma of a snake bite, and immediately surrendered to the call to ministry.


    Cecil graduated from the Baptist Theological College of Southern Africa in Johannesburg in 1969 and is an ordained minister with the Baptist Union of Southern Africa. He has pastored three churches in Durban and Johannesburg.


    In 1980 he responded to the call of World Evangelism and has taken the Gospel to countries in Africa (Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia & Zimbabwe), Argentina, Australia, Barbados, Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Chile, China, Costa Rica, Europe (Western and Eastern), Fiji,  India, Latvia, Madagascar, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Paraguay, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, USA, UK.


    He is Founder and President of Living Ministries International, an Evangelistic Ministry, conducting Crusades, Revivals, Evangelism Training and Spiritual Warfare Conferences.  His ministry is to the lost as well as to building up the body of Christ.


    Cecil served as Honorary Executive Director of the South African Association of Evangelism from 2000 for 13 years.


    He holds a Master’s Degree as well as a Doctorate in Ministry.  His thesis was based on “The Ministry of the Evangelist and the Local Church”.


    Cecil and his wife, Jeanette, live in Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth.  They have three adult children and 9 grand-children.

  • Chapter One Video - Faith's Crossroads

    In Chapter One, Ruth remains loyal to her mother-in-law Naomi after the death of her husband and in-laws. Naomi decides to return to her home land of Bethlehem alone, however, Ruth insists on staying with her and adopting Naomi’s God as her own. “But Ruth said, "Do not urge me to leave you or turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people shall be my people, and your God, my God” (1:16).


    Theme:  Ruth is broken and moves towards the Redeemer's fold.

  • Chapter Two Video - Faith's Comfort

    In Chapter Two, we see Ruth gleaning in the fields of Naomi’s relative Boaz. Boaz out of compassion and obedience to the law allows Ruth to glean but also leaves extra grain for her purposely.


    Theme:  Ruth is busy in the Redeemer's field.

  • Chapter Three Video - Faith's Courage

    In Chapter Three, Naomi encourages Ruth to seek marriage with Boaz as a kinsman redeemer. Ruth obeys Naomi and asks for her rights and Boaz agrees but mentions that he must first be sure there are no others with first rights.


    Theme:  Ruth is bowing at the Redeemer's feet.

  • Chapter Four Video - Faith's Conquest

    In Chapter Four, Boaz and Ruth are married and Ruth conceives a son named Obed, the grandfather of the great King David, in the lineage of Christ our Messiah.


    Theme:  Ruth is blessed in the Redeemer's family.
